As Norton Rose Fulbright LLP’s first female Chair, Farmida is committed to further increasing the representation of women in management positions and closely supports the firm’s ambitious global gender diversity targets. She has also long been a sponsor and steering group member of the firm’s women’s network. Farmida personally reorganised the firm’s CSR programme and, alongside the Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) Managing Partner, implemented initiatives addressing gender and wider diversity and inclusion issues. This included a bursary programme to improve access to the legal profession and a Race & Ethnicity Strategy, which involved setting targets and launching a learning and development programme to increase BAME representation. Farmida leads the firm’s EMEA partnership with Save the Children (STC), which tackles the disruption COVID-19 caused to education, providing pro bono and volunteering support. She also drives the firm’s 2022 Global Charitable Initiative with STC, helping communities affected by climate change.
