The latter was the first such report in the retail industry. Other initiatives included new fertility, parental, menopause and bereavement policies. Under Shirine’s leadership, in 18 months, ethnically diverse representation in senior leadership rose from 6% to 11%, and representation of women increased from 31% to 37%. Rachel Hopcroft CBE

For the last eight years, Rachel Hopcroft CBE has been Head of Corporate Affairs at KPMG UK. She is a member of KPMG UK’s Executive Committee and Inclusive Leadership Board, where she has advocated for enhanced parental leave and improved pay gap reporting. Rachel has driven the work on socio-economic diversity at KPMG UK which led to KPMG being the first business to disclose its socio-economic pay gap and set a target of having 29 percent of partners and directors come from a working-class background by 2030. Under Rachel’s leadership the Ethel Watts campaign was the first of its kind to highlight women's contributions to the firm. She also supported KPMG UK’s work to bolster its menopause policy and raise awareness of the issue in the workplace, the Cross Company Allyship Programme 2.0 and sponsorship of the Women of the Future Programme.
