Sandra has been an active ally and advocate of women’s inclusion. Through the Visible Start women 45+ “returnship” program, she has supported the production and delivery of mid-life women returners training program, helping to build/rebuild confidence, learn new skills, and recognize and appreciate their existing transferable skills. The full program resulted in 20 women being hired within the Group, around a quarter of those into senior roles. Sandra also designed, developed, and launched an internal sponsorship program, requiring senior leaders to actively and intentionally advocate for and seek out the opportunity to grow and develop the careers of minority ethnic employees (60% women), resulting in 50% promotions overall (of which 60% were women). Additionally, she is a member and co-chair of Lifetimes (Generation) ERG promoting multi-generational workforce benefits with a particular focus on women 45+. Sandra organized numerous menopause lunch and learns, drop-in sessions, and set up a menopause champion group.
