As CEO at the UK’s largest business group, Julie founded a new cross-organization Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Steering Group, which includes both leading staff and a set of elected FSB volunteer members, including female business owners and staff. As the leader of the business, Julie has overseen a majority female Board of Directors, and a majority female Senior Management Team – empowering women to put themselves forward, and sending the message throughout the organization that women succeed at FSB, and reach the very top. Most recently, Julie has signed FSB up to the Menopause Workplace Pledge, starting a conversation with the small business community (collectively – the UK’s largest employer) to address 900,000 women that have left work because of periods, fertility struggles, pregnancy or menopause.
